I pre-booked parking. My room was spacious, and very quiet. I enjoyed the sufficient continental breakfast they provided. The hotel staff were fantastic. They even suggested I pre-book a taxi to the port.
I found a steep staircase inside. People with limited mobility should be prepared. The hotel does not have a toilet on the ground floor. They may need to go up a steep staircase or down a short flight to the bar and restaurant.

damp smellworn furniture
I found a few things less than stellar. the room smelled strongly of damp. this was quite off-putting, but the worn furniture also detracted from the experience. i hoped for better given the price. A little maintenance would improve the stay significantly.

the room was spacious and clean. a fan was available in the room and the windows opened fully (a real plus). the bathroom had a good shower over the bath. i was able to get a vegan gluten free meal from the bar ordering close to last orders.
i noticed some slight wear and tear in the car parking area, which could use some attention.
